1. Sharpen The Knives:

Cutting your food with a dull knife only wastes your time. There are mainly 3-types of knives. They are pairing knives, chef’s knives, and carving knives. No matter what type of knives you are using, it has to be sharp. People think that by using sharp knives, they will have more chances to cut themselves. That is wrong. Dull knives have more risks to slip off and resulting in giving you a cut. Sharp knives help you in making the best uniform and cleat cuts. Whether it is cutting, slicing, dicing, or chopping, sharp knives will always do the best work. If you are using a dull knife, it will make you cut non-uniform sizes. In this way, you will end up overcooking the small pieces and undercooking the big pieces. Make sure you regularly sharp your knives and make precise cuts.

2. Mise En Place:

Mise en place means setting up all ingredients before cooking. This French phrase means to put everything in place and arrange all ingredients. In all restaurants, all recipe ingredients are washed, sliced, chopped, and seasoned before cooking. Prepping everything before you hit the pan makes the cooking process faster. Practicing mise en place has many benefits. You can point out missing ingredients before cooking, or you can place all ingredients in order. Another advantage is that you will not panic during cooking or you will overcook the food. In this way, you will get some extra time to clean the utensils and the counter.

3. Season The Meat:

Properly seasoning your food is one of the best techniques culinary chefs use to ace their food. Salting is the key to making your food’s flavor jump out. Salting your food throughout the recipe will do wonders for your course. But adding salt at the start will give it the best taste. For example, if you are braising any meat, I will suggest you season it with salt before cooking. The best for this case is kosher salt. If you are making pasta, make sure to add some salt to the boiling water. It will enhance the flavor of your pasta.
